Since Carl Pei revealed the release of the highly anticipated Nothing phone (1) last month, we’ve seen a slew of reports speculating on the device’s release date and price. We even obtained some design information, and we may have just gotten our first peek at the phone’s official design (1). Take a look at the details down below.
Nothing Phone (1) Design Leaked
On SlashLeaks, a reliable leaker recently published an image depicting the likely final design of Nothing’s first smartphone. On a Mac screen, the image supplied by SlashLeaks contributor Piyush Bhasarkar shows the front and rear design of an unnamed smartphone. You can see it in the attachment below.
Someone appears to be exhibiting the likely design of the Nothing phone (1) in a video conference in the image above. When we take a closer look at the phone, we can see that the front has an almost bezel-less screen with a top-center punch-hole for the selfie camera. The back of the smartphone, though, is a little fuzzy. Only the vertical rear camera module, probably with a triple-camera system, is visible.
For those who are unaware, Carl Pei and Tom Howard, Nothing’s head of design, have already divulged numerous details about the design of the Nothing phone (1). It will, like the ear (1), have a transparent encasing that will reveal some (out of 400) of the device’s major internal components, such as the wireless charging coil and the rear-camera module.
For the phone’s physical form, the design team reportedly took influence from Massimo Vignelli and Bob Noorda’s 1972 New York Subway Map. There isn’t much information about the device’s internals right now, other than the fact that it will be powered by a Snapdragon chipset, most likely the latest Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC. The Nothing Phone (1), according to other speculations, will have a 90Hz display, 50MP triple cameras, and wireless charging.
It will also run Nothing OS, which can be tried out via the Nothing Launcher, which is already available for Android smartphones and will be available exclusively on Flipkart at launch. The phone is likely to be unveiled this summer, although no official date has been set.
