Foldable Google Pixel to feature an ultra-thin glass cover window.
Samsung has been a pioneer in the foldable smartphone sector, releasing a number of models with the revolutionary form factor. Several more manufacturers are entering the foldable smartphone market, including Google with its new Pixel folding smartphone.
According to a fresh report out of Korea, Samsung would supply Google with ultra-thin glass (UTG).
Samsung is thought to have planned to sell UTG to other companies in order to expand its foldable display business. Samsung introduced Ultra-Thin Glass in February of last year, and it is made using an intensifying method to offer greater flexibility and endurance than regular polyimide cover windows.
There is no information on the design or functions of the foldable Google Pixel smartphone.
However, Samsung Display’s foldable OLED panel is said to be used in the device. While the exact date of release is unknown, it is expected that the phone, along with the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, would be introduced at a hardware event in the fall.
