LineageOS 17.1 based on Android 10 is now officially available

LineageOS 17.1 based on Android 10 is now officially available.

The team behind the LineageOS 17.1 based on Android 10 has confirmed that it is now officially available.The team decided to name it LineageOS 17.1 instead of LineageOS 17.0, as they have based it on the feature packed Google Pixel 4 and 4 XL build of AOSP.

The official release adds a number of new features to LineageOS :

  • Ability to select smaller parts of your screen and edit the screenshots with new partial screenshot UI.
  • New ThemePicker app to change system wide color accents.
  • Ability to change system font and icon shapes.
  • By using biometric authentication you can hide and password protect applications.
  • From October 2019 till March 2020 security patches have been merged.
  • Builds are based on the android-10.0.0_r31 tag, which is the Pixel 4/4 XL’s tag.
  • Wi-Fi display is available.
  • WebView has been updated to Chromium 80.0.3987.132.
  • Pop-up and rotating cameras support has been added.
  • On-screen fingerprint sensors support has been added.
  • AOSP keyboard has been added with spell check and many languages such as Australian English, Lithuanian, Latvian, Dutch, Romanian, Slovenian, Serbian and Turkish.
  • Emojis available in AOSP keyboard have been updated to Emoji 12.0.

Due to this official release from the LineageOS team,the build can be used as a daily driver and all features of the device will work without any stability issues.Lineage Recovery will be the default option for LineageOS for all officially supprted devices.
