The ‘Notify Me’ page on Flipkart goes online, signalling the start of the introduction of Nothing’s Phone 1. Nothing Phone (1), which was announced in March 2022, will be available through Flipkart and, most likely, the company’s website. The Nothing Phone 1 will be the company’s first smartphone. It is based in the United Kingdom. The smartphone will most likely be unveiled in June 2022.
The Snapdragon CPU and the company’s own operating system, Nothing OS, will be included in the Nothing Phone (1).
We don’t know if Nothing’s partnership with Flipkart is exclusive. The OnePlus-Amazon partnership is well known to Carl Pei, the CEO and co-founder of Nothing. So, in order to build a new environment, the former OnePlus co-founder may have chosen Flipkart, which is currently India’s largest e-commerce portal.
The previous generations of OnePlus devices had a basic appearance and user interface, which could be worked around with the Nothing Phone (1). The goal of the Nothing Phone 1 would be to provide a clutter-free smartphone experience.
Nothing Phone (1) might try to get into the premium segment, which is OnePlus’ stronghold. The phone could use Qualcomm’s freshly announced Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 CPU, which has up to 12GB of RAM. On top of its own OS, Nothing, the Nothing Phone 1 is expected to run Android 12 out of the box.
The phone could come with three rear cameras and a single selfie camera. The Sony IMX sensors, both in the rear and selfie lens, were not visible on the Phone (1). The battery is predicted to have a capacity of 4,200mAh to 4,500mAh and come with a charger.
The display on the Nothing Phone (1) is believed to be a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone could be popular in major cities and among internet-savvy users looking for a new premium to mid-segment choice. To dethrone OnePlus’s internet presence and Samsung’s offline reach, Nothing Phone 1 will have to work hard.
