Nothing Phone (2) Receives NRRA Certification, US Release Confirmed for July 2023

The highly anticipated successor to the transparent Nothing Phone (1), the Nothing Phone (2), is generating significant excitement among tech enthusiasts. CEO Carl Pei has been teasing the upcoming smartphone, and new information has emerged regarding its launch and features. Nothing, the company behind the innovative device, is gearing up for the global release of the Nothing Phone (2), scheduled for July 2023. In a major development, the smartphone has obtained radio wave certification from South Korea’s National Radio Research Agency (NRRA), following its prior certification by BIS in India.
The appearance of the Nothing Phone 2 in a certification listing suggests that the launch might occur earlier than anticipated. According to reports from 91Mobiles, the model number of the Nothing Phone 2 appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification website, marking the first official mention of the device in any certification database. This discovery fuels anticipation among eager consumers eagerly awaiting the phone’s arrival.
Further bolstering excitement, the Nothing Phone 2 has also received NRRA certification in Korea, solidifying its global launch in July 2023. This aligns with the CEO’s previous announcement that the phone will hit the US market and other global markets during that same month. Carl Pei has stated that after its release in the US, the device will gradually roll out in other countries.

Nothing Phone (2) Leaked Design
Recently, renowned leakers OnLeaks and Smartprix unveiled renders of the upcoming Nothing Phone (2), showcasing a rounded design reminiscent of the iPhone 6. These renders also revealed that the display of the device will feature a 2.5D curved design. Additionally, the glyph LED, known for its unique visual notifications, is said to have undergone enhancements to offer more control and a wider range of features. However, CEO Carl Pei took to Twitter to dismiss the leak as “Fake,” as it quickly gained widespread attention and speculation within the tech community.
Nothing Phone (2) Launch Date
The official global launch date for the Nothing Phone (2) has been confirmed as July 2023, as revealed by Nothing’s CEO, Carl Pei. In July, customers in the US and other global markets will have the opportunity to purchase or pre-order this mid-range smartphone. This announcement aligns with earlier reports suggesting a release later this year.
Notably, Nothing has prioritized the US market for the launch of its flagship Android phone, the Phone 2, later this year. CEO and co-founder Carl Pei has emphasized the company’s dedication to expanding its presence in the United States. The upcoming release of the Nothing Phone 2 will finally grant US customers the chance to experience the brand’s innovative technology, following their disappointment over the lack of an official US release for the Nothing Phone 1.
As the countdown to the launch of the Nothing Phone 2 continues, tech enthusiasts worldwide eagerly await the arrival of this transparent and feature-rich smartphone. With its NRRA certification and impending global release, the Nothing Phone 2 promises to deliver a unique and immersive user experience, solidifying Nothing’s position as a disruptive force in the mobile industry.
