In an exciting update, Carl Pei, the founder of Nothing, has officially confirmed that the highly anticipated Nothing Phone (2) will be equipped with the most recent Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. This announcement has generated significant buzz and raised expectations for the upcoming device, as it promises to deliver a premium-tier performance upgrade over its predecessor.

Carl Pei took to Twitter to share the news, addressing the ongoing discussions surrounding the chipset choice for the Nothing Phone (2). He highlighted the notable differences and improvements that the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset will bring to the highly anticipated smartphone.

Nothing Phone (2) Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Key Features

One of the most impressive enhancements offered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is its exceptional performance boost. Initial tests conducted on the Phone (2) have demonstrated that the app opening speed is twice as fast compared to the previous model, showcasing an impressive 80% overall performance improvement. This revelation indicates a highly promising user experience for future Phone (2) owners.

Next-Level Camera: Raw HDR and 4K Recording at 60 fps

The camera capabilities of the Phone (2) have also received a significant upgrade with the inclusion of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. The chipset features an 18-bit Image Signal Processor (ISP), enabling the Phone (2) to capture over 4,000 times more camera data than its predecessor. As a result, users can expect advanced features such as Raw HDR and 4K recording at 60 frames per second, raising the bar for smartphone photography and videography.

Built for Excellence: Superior Power Consumption and Heat Management

Nothing’s decision to opt for the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset was driven by its commitment to excellence. Manufactured using TSMC’s cutting-edge 4nm process, this chipset offers superior power consumption and heat management capabilities, ensuring optimal performance without compromising on battery life. This choice underscores Nothing’s dedication to delivering a top-notch user experience.

Pei also emphasized that the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset has undergone thorough testing and continuous optimization since its introduction a year ago. Rather than being caught up in a race to claim the latest specifications, Nothing prioritizes the user experience, ensuring that the Phone (2) is finely tuned to perfection.

The selection of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset for the Nothing Phone (2) reflects Nothing’s commitment to providing an accessible yet significantly improved smartphone experience compared to its predecessor. By carefully weighing the benefits against the costs, Nothing aims to strike a balance between cutting-edge technology and user-centric design.

As anticipation continues to build around the release of the Nothing Phone (2), technology enthusiasts and smartphone users alike eagerly await the opportunity to experience the enhanced performance, camera capabilities, and overall excellence that the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset promises to bring. With Carl Pei at the helm, Nothing seems determined to deliver a device that lives up to the hype and sets a new standard for smartphone innovation.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 Could Be the First Foldable with Exynos 2500 Chip

Published

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7

Samsung is getting ready to launch its new foldable phones – the Galaxy Z Flip7 and Fold7 – in early July. There has been some confusion about which processor the Flip7 will use, but a new report now says it’s likely to feature the Exynos 2500 chip.

This is big news because the Exynos 2500 was originally planned for the upcoming Galaxy S25 series. However, Samsung faced problems producing enough of these chips, so it had to switch to the Snapdragon 8 Elite for the S25 lineup.

Now it seems those production issues have been solved, or Samsung is okay with using the Exynos chip in the Flip7 since it will likely sell in smaller numbers compared to the S-series phones.

If the rumor is true, the Galaxy Z Flip7 will be the first Samsung foldable to use an Exynos processor. The report says the Exynos 2500 will be used in most regions, including India and South Korea, while the Snapdragon 8 Elite might only be used in China and North America.

The Exynos 2500 is a powerful chip with ten CPU cores, including:

  • 1 Cortex-X925 core (up to 3.3 GHz)
  • 2 Cortex-A725 cores (up to 2.75 GHz)
  • 5 Cortex-A725 cores (up to 2.36 GHz)
  • 2 Cortex-A520 cores (up to 1.8 GHz)

It also comes with a new Xclipse 950 GPU, built using AMD’s latest RDNA 3.5 technology.

While this is still based on leaks, it’s exciting to see Samsung bring its Exynos chips back into the spotlight—especially in a foldable phone.
