AirTag 2: What to Expect from Apple’s Next-Gen Tracker and HomePod mini Upgrades

Published

AirTag 2 could arrive in early 2026 with meaningful improvements to tracking, pairing and the HomePod mini getting a chip upgrade. Leaks from an internal iOS 26 build reveal Apple is preparing a successor to the original AirTag that focuses on faster setup, more precise location reporting and smarter behaviour in crowded or moving situations.

The report—first highlighted by Macworld—says iOS 26 contains references labelled “2025AirTag,” suggesting the device was planned for 2025 but may now ship in the first half of 2026. Key improvements likely include an accelerated pairing process, enhanced Precision Finding and detailed battery level reporting so users know when a replacement is due. A new “improved moving” feature reportedly lets owners track an AirTag’s location even while it’s in motion, a useful upgrade for luggage or shared items.

Some of these enhancements might also reach current AirTag units through future software updates, but specific hardware-driven features will likely be exclusive to the second-generation model.

HomePod mini: S10 Chip, Limited AI The same iOS build references a new HomePod mini (codename B252) expected to use Apple’s S10 chip—the same family seen in recent Apple Watch models—replacing the current S5. However, the leak suggests this updated HomePod mini may not support Apple Intelligence features; Apple reportedly plans to reserve advanced AI capabilities for its upcoming smart home hub.

Pricing and timing remain unconfirmed. The original AirTag launched in April 2021 while the HomePod mini arrived in October 2020. If Apple follows its usual cadence, official details and release timing should surface alongside iOS 26 announcements.

GPT-5.2 Model Explained: Pro, Thinking, Instant and What’s New in OpenAI’s Latest Upgrade

GPT 5.2 model overview showing Pro, Thinking, Instant, vision, and compaction

GPT 5.2 model: What’s New in Pro, Thinking, and Instant

GPT-5.2 model updates mark OpenAI’s newest publicly announced GPT family (December 2025), aimed squarely at everyday professional work that still demands serious brainpower. If GPT-5.1 emphasized steerability and stronger coding behavior, GPT-5.2 pushes further into complex, multi-step workflows, better visual understanding, and more efficient long-context handling.

GPT 5.2 model upgrades in 2025

The lineup is designed to fit different job shapes. GPT-5.2 Pro targets heavy-duty scientific assistance and difficult reasoning tasks, while GPT-5.2 Thinking is built for deeper analysis when problems get messy. GPT-5.2 Instant focuses on speed and responsiveness for routine work without sacrificing quality. Together, these variants reflect a clear direction: specialized models that integrate more smoothly into real professional pipelines.

GPT 5.2 model vision improvements for charts and dashboards

One of the most practical upgrades is vision. GPT-5.2 is described as roughly halving error rates in understanding charts, dashboards, diagrams, and software interfaces. That matters when your “document” is really a KPI dashboard, a product analytics screenshot, or a workflow diagram that needs interpretation rather than transcription.

GPT 5.2 model reasoning: xhigh effort and concise summaries

On the reasoning side, GPT-5.2 introduces a new xhigh effort level for deeper analysis, paired with concise reasoning summaries to keep outputs readable. This combination aims to support both rigorous thinking and clearer communication—useful when you need decisions, not dissertations.

GPT 5.2 model context compaction for long workflows

For long-running tasks, GPT-5.2 adds context compaction, improving how the model carries forward key details across extended sessions. And in science-oriented evaluations, GPT-5.2 Pro is positioned as especially strong, including high performance on challenging benchmarks such as GPQA Diamond.

In short, GPT-5.2 is framed as OpenAI’s most advanced model family for professional productivity: sharper vision, deeper reasoning options, and better endurance for complex work.

OnePlus 15R Launching in India on 17 December: Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, 7,400mAh Battery, 165Hz AMOLED Expected

OnePlus 15R launch date teaser image showing mint green OnePlus smartphone rear design with dual camera module

OnePlus 15R launch date is officially set for 17 December in India, and the brand is positioning the phone as a performance-first flagship companion to the OnePlus 15. The company’s microsite is already live, confirming key upgrades across speed, battery endurance, and day-to-day usability. The OnePlus 15R will debut alongside the OnePlus Pad Go 2, and sales are expected to follow via Amazon, the OnePlus online store, and authorised retail partners.

On the performance front, OnePlus has confirmed the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 for the 15R, a meaningful jump over the previous generation. The phone is also expected to pair the chipset with LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, which should translate into faster app launches, smoother multitasking, and better sustained performance for gaming.

Battery is shaping up to be the headline feature. The OnePlus 15R is confirmed to pack a 7,400mAh cell, the largest ever on a OnePlus phone, beating even the 7,300mAh unit in the standard OnePlus 15. OnePlus says the battery uses Silicon Nanostack technology with 15% silicon content in the anode, designed to retain at least 80% capacity after four years80W fast charging is also expected.

Display upgrades look equally appealing. The phone will likely feature a 165Hz 1.5K AMOLED panel with up to 1,800 nits peak brightness, plus ultra-low 1 nit dimming and TÜV Rheinland Intelligent Eye Care 5.0 certification.

For cameras, expectations point to a 50MP Sony IMX906 main sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 32MP front camera—aimed at dependable everyday results.

Pricing is tipped at ₹45,000 to ₹50,000, reflecting the step up from the OnePlus 13R’s launch price.
