OxygenOS 16.0.2 update is now rolling out for the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R, and it delivers a solid mix of new features and practical refinements. The build shown in the rollout is 16.0.2.40, bundled with the December 1, 2025 security patch, and the download size reported is about 1.60GB. If the OTA isn’t showing on your device yet, some users report seeing it after checking Software Update > three-dot menu > Beta Program, where a release channel/stable build option appears.

A standout addition is the Cleanup tool in Smart Sidebar. It opens in a floating window and helps you quickly identify storage that can be cleared, making device maintenance far less tedious.

Home screen customization also gets smarter. After resizing an app icon and adding shortcuts, you can now drag and rearrange shortcut icons to match your habits. The update also improves cloned apps, allowing users to resize cloned app icons and add shortcuts, which was previously restricted.

Camera changes in the OxygenOS 16.0.2 update

The camera app adds a new Neon filter called 800T Film, aimed at neon-lit scenes and nighttime urban shots. There’s also an upgraded Expand Mode UI, plus new shutter sounds and haptic feedback when switching film styles. A refreshed Expand watermark is included as well. According to the details shared, Expand-related upgrades are expected on the OnePlus 12, not the OnePlus 12R.

Beyond features, the OxygenOS 16.0.2 update enhances usability with two-in-one widgets for better space usage, Circle to Search support even with the navigation bar hidden, faster photo preview handling, and the ability to edit images and videos inside Private Safe without unlocking first. Phone Manager also introduces prompts for automatic updates to the virus database and blocking list, improving ongoing protection.

OnePlus 13 Series OxygenOS 16.0.2 Update Brings New Cleanup Tool, Private Safe Editing, and Faster Photos

OxygenOS 16.0.2 update for the OnePlus 13 series is now rolling out for both the OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13S, and it is the kind of release that feels immediately useful rather than just cosmetic. The update shown in the rollout includes the December 1, 2025, security patch and weighs around 1.64GB, so downloading over Wi‑Fi is the safer bet.

OxygenOS 16.0.2 update for OnePlus 13 series: What’s new

One of the standout additions is a Cleanup tool inside the Smart Sidebar. If it is not visible, open the sidebar, tap Edit, and add Cleanup. It provides a quick, one-tap way to clear storage suggestions, which can be handy when your phone is running low on space.

Better privacy tools and smarter protection updates

This OxygenOS 16.0.2 update for the OnePlus 13 series also improves everyday privacy. In Private Safe, you can now edit images and videos directly without unlocking them first, which speeds up quick adjustments while keeping protected media in place.

In Phone Manager, a new prompt lets you allow automatic updates over Wi‑Fi and mobile data for items like the virus database and the blocking list. It is a simple change, but it helps keep security tools current without constant manual checking.

Sharing, home screen changes, and widget stacking

A new feature called Content Portal makes sharing faster: long-press an image or text in supported areas, and you will see sharing options, with the ability to prioritize your favorite apps.

On the home screen, shortcuts become more flexible. After resizing an app icon and adding commonly used shortcuts, you can now drag to rearrange shortcut icons. The update also enables resizing cloned apps, plus a new ability to stack two widgets into one by dragging one widget onto another.

Photos updates, OnePlus 13-only Expand mode, and Circle to Search

The Photos app gains a Neon filter and improved thumbnail loading for quicker browsing. OnePlus 13 users (not 13S) also get a refreshed Expand mode UI with added sound and haptic tweaks. Finally, Circle to Search can still be triggered even with the navigation bar hidden, keeping the screen clean without losing functionality.

OxygenOS 16.0.2 Update Brings Content Portal and a Fresh Launcher UI: Here’s What’s New

Published

on

Hand holding a smartphone showing the gallery selection screen, with bold text reading “AMAZING FEATURE” and an arrow pointing to the phone.

OxygenOS 16.0.2 update users are getting a genuinely handy addition called Content Portal, plus a quiet but noticeable System Launcher update that tweaks the home-screen editing UI. Together, these changes make sharing faster and the launcher feel a bit more modern, especially on devices with the December security patch.

On the OnePlus 12, OxygenOS 16.0.2 is tied to the December security patch, while 16.0.1 remains on the November patch. The launcher upgrade highlighted here moves from System Launcher 16.3.2 to 16.4.3 via an APK update. After installing, the most visible changes appear when you long-press the home screen: icons for WidgetsWallpaperStyle & layout, and Home screen settings get a refreshed look.

One important note: the Control Center blur/transparency improvement (often described as a “proper” background blur) doesn’t necessarily show up just by installing the launcher. It’s more closely associated with the December update itself on supported phones.

The bigger story is Content Portal. Once installed, you can enable it by searching Content Portal in Settings, typically under Accessibility & convenience. It lets you touch and hold text or images, then drag them toward the bottom of the screen to bring up a dock of sharing targets. You can pick up to five custom services/apps (or leave it to the system), making it easy to send content to apps like messaging, social platforms, or file tools without the usual multi-tap share flow.

If anything breaks after installing (like the home screen not loading), you can roll back safely: go to Settings > Apps > App management, search Launcher, and uninstall updates. The same Apps menu lets you uninstall Content Portal if needed. For best compatibility, use these installs on OxygenOS 16 devices.
