The announcement comes via the official POCO Twitter account, and according to the tweet, the POCO X2 arrives next week, Tuesday, February 4, 2020.
In anticipation of the device’s launch, POCO has created the hashtags #SmoothAF and #POCOX2. The former is actually a hint to one of the phone’s features which is its high refresh rate. Along with the tweet is also a URL to a page where you can check if your device is “Smooth AF”. If you click on the link, it takes you to a page that automatically detects the refresh rate of your device.
The phone is being touted as a gaming-focused smartphone with high refresh rate and Snapdragon chipset ticking at its core. The company is teasing the high refresh rate as the USP of the POCO X2, along with a focus on gaming as well as photography.
A recent leak from Geekbench Listing revealed that the phone will have a 1.80GHz octa-core chipset codenamed as “phoenixin,” paired with 8GB of RAM. POCO has also teased the phone will come with a Sony IMX686 (64MP) main camera and will have 6 cameras in total (four quad cameras and a dual front-facing camera).
The launch event is scheduled for 12 noon on February 4 but there is no information about the launch venue.
