Samsung Galaxy Watch8 Series May Get New ‘Squircle’ Design and Smart Features

Samsung is getting ready to launch its Galaxy Watch8 series, and it may come with a fresh new look. According to a software leak, the upcoming watches could use a “squircle” shape—a mix between a square and a circle. This design was first seen in the Galaxy Watch Ultra, and now it looks like Samsung is using it across the new Watch8 lineup.
What’s New in the Galaxy Watch8 Series?
- The Galaxy Watch8 will come in two sizes, while the Watch8 Classic will only be available in one size.
- The Watch8 Classic is also expected to bring back the rotating bezel, but that detail is still not confirmed from the leaked data.
- The design will feature a squircle body but keep a round display, similar to the Galaxy Watch Ultra’s look.
This information was found inside Samsung’s One UI 8 Watch firmware. One of the system animation files revealed images of the new watches, showing their shapes and model codes.

Watch8 Classic Could Get a Quick Button
Another possible upgrade is the addition of a Quick Button, like the one seen on the Watch Ultra. This button might be used for fast actions like workouts or emergency contacts. There’s also mention of improved vibration patterns, which could make notifications easier to feel.
Interestingly, there was no sign of a Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, suggesting Samsung may not release a follow-up this year. So the current Watch Ultra may remain the top model for now.
One UI 8 Watch Features
The Galaxy Watch8 series will launch with One UI 8 Watch, bringing several new features:
- A “Now Bar”, first introduced on smartphones with One UI 7.
- Randomized watch faces to keep your watch looking fresh.
- A battery protection option that limits charging to protect battery life.
- A new Shortcuts app to place frequently used apps directly on your watch face.
Samsung seems to be updating both the look and functionality of its smartwatches with the Galaxy Watch8 series. While the new squircle design may divide opinions, the added features and improved One UI could make these watches more useful than ever.

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE Camera Details Leaked: Not Much Has Changed

New leaks have revealed more details about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 FE, and so far, the changes look minor. A report also suggested that the selfie camera would be upgraded and that the phone would keep the same 50 MP main rear camera as last year’s model, the S24 FE.
Now, new information has surfaced about the telephoto and ultrawide cameras—and it’s not great news. The telephoto camera will still be an 8 MP sensor with 3x optical zoom, just like the one on the S24 FE.
Many people expected better, especially for a phone in this price range launching in 2025. Still, it’s worth noting that the S25 FE at least has a dedicated telephoto lens, unlike the S25 Edge, which reportedly doesn’t include one at all.
The ultrawide camera will also stay the same—a 12 MP sensor, again similar to the S24 FE. So, if the leaks are accurate, the only noticeable camera improvement in the S25 FE will be on the front-facing selfie camera.
In terms of performance, the S25 FE is expected to feature a slightly better processor. Instead of the Exynos 2400e found in the S24 FE, it will use the full version of the Exynos 2400.
So far, the Galaxy S25 FE seems to be a very small upgrade over its predecessor. The main rear camera, ultrawide, and telephoto lenses are all expected to remain the same. The only real upgrades could be the selfie camera and a slightly better chipset. Whether Samsung has more surprises in store remains to be seen.

Samsung May Add New AI Feature to Galaxy Phones

Samsung is working on a new feature for its Galaxy AI called “image-to-video generation,” according to a tipster on X (formerly Twitter). The tipster did not share many details but said the feature will let users create videos from images using AI.
This news comes soon after Google announced its advanced video generation tool powered by its Gemini AI. Since Samsung and Google often work together—and Gemini is already the default virtual assistant on Galaxy phones—it’s possible Samsung will use Google’s AI technology for this new feature.
However, Samsung might not be the first to offer this. Honor is preparing to launch a similar feature in its upcoming Honor 400 series. This feature will also use Google’s AI and will be free for the first two months. After that, users will have to pay a subscription fee.
It is possible that Samsung will release its image-to-video feature with the upcoming One UI 8.0 update, and it might also require a paid subscription later. But for now, this is only a rumor and nothing has been officially confirmed by Samsung.
