Telegram, one of the most popular texting and chatting apps in the world, is apparently considering introducing a premium subscription for its users. It’s a trend that might be replicated by other messaging apps. We’ve heard rumours regarding a possible Telegram Premium tier subscription in the past. Alessandro Paluzzi, a well-known developer, has now disclosed more details on the subject.
Details about Telegram Premium Subscription
It’s worth mentioning that if you download the Telegram app right now, you’ll be greeted with the statement, “Telegram is free forever. No ads. No subscription fees.” However, given recent events, this could prove to be incorrect.
Telegram is working on a new ‘Telegram Premium‘ subscription, according to Alessandro’s Twitter account. Users would be able to unlock new reactions and other features as a result of this. The developer also included a screenshot of the Telegram Premium option on the smartphone.
This could imply that the present reactions and app features would remain unrestricted. However, there may be extra reactions that customers will have to pay to unlock. This is a business model that other social media texting apps, such as WhatsApp and Signal, could readily follow.
It’s worth noting, though, that while reactions and stickers are widely used on Telegram, they aren’t on Signal or WhatsApp. As a result, while other sites could adopt the premium subscription model for some reactions and more, it is unlikely to be as effective.
Regardless, Telegram has not yet confirmed anything. Companies like Telegram, on the other hand, couldn’t keep providing free services indefinitely. To stay afloat, these companies require a stable income strategy. WhatsApp may also introduce a paid subscription alongside an ad-supported free version. WhatsApp was rumoured to be working on integrating advertisements into WhatsApp Stories. It’s possible that it will come true.
