Xiaomi on Tuesday launched the Mi Router 4C in India. Xiaomi claims the new router delivers an increased operating range and stronger signal. It also comes with features like parental control and remote management.
The device comes with 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connectivity and four high-performance omnidirectional antennas that can deliver up to 300Mbps downstream speeds.
The device runs on an MT7628N processor coupled with 64MB of RAM and 16MB of ROM and has MediaTek’s MT7628N IoT chip that is said to offer improved RF performance and reduced power consumption.
In a tweet posted just hours earlier, Xiaomi said that the Mi Router 4C comes with a number of features, including Mi Wi-Fi App connectivity on both Android and iOS, Parental Control, and a Wi-Fi Speed Boost.
The device packs 64MB of RAM and can connect up to 64 devices simultaneously, which is up to eight times more than conventional routers. Users can control the router through a dedicated Mi Wi-Fi application.
The app allows users to view and manage settings remotely.“It alerts on your phone whenever a new device gets connected. Whether it is blacklisting unwanted internet activity, blocking suspicious devices or setting time limits on child internet usage, you can do it all right from your phone,” Xiaomi said on its website.
It also has a built-in ‘Repeater Mode’ that can be used in conjunction with any router to help extend network coverage.
Connectivity options on the router include 2x LAN ports, 10/100Mbps (Auto MDI/MDIX), 1x RJ45 WAN port, 10/100Mbps (Auto MDI/MDIX), and 1x Power port. It also includes Red/ Blue/ Yellow LED lights that blink to indicate power and internet connectivity.
The Mi Router 4C is being offered only in a white color option and, has been priced at ₹999. It is currently available only on the company’s own official web store in India.
Till now, there is no news when it will be offered through online and offline outlets in India.
