Apple WWDC 2022 is going to be held Today 6th June – How to watch live and what to Expect

Apple’s annual World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) is almost here; it begins on Monday, June 6th, and runs through the 10th. In-person attendance will be limited; the majority of those who participate will do so online. What surprises does Apple have in store for us?

This event is entirely focused on software and developers. The new versions of Apple’s various operating systems that power its phones, tablets, watches, computers, media players, and possibly other devices should excite casual users.

Here is what we expect from WWDC 2022

ios16

The latest version of iOS will create the framework for the new iPhones, which are expected to be released in September and will reportedly include Always On Display capability. The major difficulty here is to keep power consumption low, which Apple has always excelled at. Will AoD be available on iPhones 13 and older? Unlikely, because the majority of the power reductions are due to hardware rather than software.

An API that allows for fine-grained control over how the status bar is presented is one screen-related development to keep an eye on. A more dynamic system can indicate a shift away from the notch and toward other designs.

So, what can existing users anticipate? According to Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman, Apple will update its notification system. The system’s health tracking features will also be upgraded, but specifics are scarce.

Apple’s first-party apps, according to Gurman, will be overhauled in iOS 16. Communications will purportedly have “social network-like capabilities” centred on audio messages. Medicine management tools, as well as sleep and women’s health tracking, are planned to be added to the Health app.

Apple is also working on an overhaul for the multitasking interface, but the changes will be much more extensive on its tablets.

ipadOS 16

According to reports, the new OS version wants to bring iPads closer to laptops. Analysts predict that, in addition to the present split-screen approach, the multitasking interface will be updated to incorporate free-form resizable windows. The app switcher will also be improved.

WatchOS 9

According to reports, the updated firmware would include a new power-saving mode. It won’t be as restrictive as Power Reserve mode, as you’ll still be able to utilise various apps and functionalities while preserving battery life. How long do you think it will take? On Monday, we’ll find out.

There may be changes to the user interface, as well as new health features. According to rumours, the new version will include features such as atrial fibrillation detection, as well as additional training styles and analytics.

macOS 13 and new Macs

macOS 13, perhaps also to be called “Mammoth”, may see an overhaul of first-party apps, similar to their counterparts on iOS.
