Nothing is set to launch the Nothing OS 2.0 update for the Nothing Phone (1) next week. Recently, Carl Pei tweeted that internal testing has started for the device, and some beta testers have gotten their hands on this new update.

This is a beta build that has not been officially released by the company. Someone has basically leaked the Nothing OS 2.0.2 Beta build file publicly. Users who are willing to install it simply sideload this file; it won’t wipe their data. Still, it’s not recommended to update your device to this beta build, as it may result in some errors.

Note: Install at your own risk if something goes wrong.

However, you can enjoy exciting new features from the Nothing OS 2.0 update on Phone (1) which was exclusively present on Nothing Phone (2). Some features, like the Volume indicator and touch responsiveness, are missing from the update. A most unique feature like Lock screen widgets, an internet speed meter, app lock, and Dual apps is now supported on a Phone (1).

This update also comes with the August 2023 Android security patch, which is good for the device as it will protect it from the latest threats and vulnerabilities.

We have already installed this update on our device and have had no issues until now, and it also didn’t wipe our data.

We have made a dedicated video where we show the first look of Nothing OS 2.0 on a Phone (1).
