Poco officially Confirms the Poco C40 and Poco C40+ Names in a Community Forum Post

Poco appears to be gearing up to release the Poco C40, a new device in the C-series. The Poco C40 with the model number 220333QPG was just discovered on the NBTC certification page. The FCC certification page has also shown the future device. Poco is yet to unveil the device but the brand has already announced the MIUI Global Stable ROM test program for the handset.

Poco Global invited applications for Poco C40 MIUI Global Stable ROM testing in a post on the Poco Community forum. The brand also disclosed the existence of another C-series phone, the Poco C40+, alongside this device. Poco Global is looking for ROM testers in Indonesia, indicating that the device could be released there shortly. Let’s take a deeper look at everything we’ve learned so far regarding the Poco C40 and the + variant.

What We Know About the Poco C40 and Poco C40+

Because the hardware is comparable, the Poco Community Forum article discusses both devices together, implying that they would run the same firmware. This leads us to suspect that the storage and memory capacities of the Poco C40 and Poco C40+ may differ. Xiaomi did something similar with the Redmi 9A and Redmi 9i in the past. The model number for the Poco C40 is 220333Q, which is also the model number for the Redmi 10C. (known as Redmi 10 in India). Based on this, the Poco C40 and Poco C40+ look to be rebadged Redmi 10C devices. The Poco C40 and Poco C40+ will have a 6.7-inch IPS LCD display with HD+ resolution, 400nits brightness, and a waterdrop notch if this happens.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor powers the Redmi 10C, for those who are unaware. However, according to a recent discovery by Kacper Skrzypek, the next Poco C40 will feature an entry-level chipset — the JR510.

The device will run MIUI 13 according to the FCC listing, but according to Kacper, it will run MIUI Go Edition. The forthcoming Poco device will enable 10W charging, according to the FCC filing. The device will also support 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi, according to the certification statement. According to the ad, the handset measures 167.18 x 76.87mm in length and width.
