Last month,Oneplus revealed their first Android 11 beta update(Developer Preview) for OnePlus 8 and Oneplus 8Pro.The features in Android 11 Beta (Developer Preview) for OnePlus 8 Series were:

• Oxygen OS 11
• Android 11
• June 2020 security patch level
• Android 11 goodies and features

But there were some Known issues in Android 11 Beta (Developer Preview)

• All data will be cleared while flashing the build
• Face unlock is unavailable
• Google Assistant (“OK Google”) does not work
• Video calling does not work
• Certain UI screens look less than desirable
• Some apps may not function as expected
• System stability issues

Today,Oneplus pushed their Android 11 Developer Preview 2 for OnePlus 8 Series.Oneplus has published a blog post on their forum titled “Android 11 Beta (Developer Preview 2) for OnePlus 8 Series”

As it is still in an early stage of development and a beta development,there are some known issues:

1. All data will be cleared while flashing the build
2. Certain UI screens look less than desirable
3. Some camera functions are not available
4. Some apps may not function as expected
5. System stability issues

 Please always backup your important data before flashing.

Please note:

1. These instructions are only for the OnePlus 8 series. Please make sure the battery level is above 30% and a minimum 3GB of storage space is available.
2. The OnePlus 8 series carrier devices (TMO/VZW) aren’t compatible with the Developer Preview builds.

Stable official version and Open Beta version to  Developer Preview version upgrade guide—via Local OTA Update

This upgrade method will erase all the contents of the phone, please be sure to backup first.

1. Download the latest ROM upgrade zip package from the specified server.
2. Copy the ROM upgrade package to the phone storage.
3. Go to Settings -> System -> System Updates -> Click top right icon -> Local upgrade -> Click on the corresponding installation package -> Upgrade -> System upgrade completed to 100%.
4. After the upgrade is complete, click Restart.
5. Update successful.​

Developer Preview version to Stable official version rollback guide – via Local OTA update

This upgrade method will erase all the contents of the phone, please be sure to backup first.
