Get OnePlus Dialer & Messages App on OnePlus 8T, OnePlus 9 Series & Oneplus 9R.

OnePlus 8T, OnePlus 9 Series, Oneplus 9R & Oneplus Nord Series don’t come with OnePlus communication apps. Instead, they get Google’s own suite of apps for dialer, contacts, and messages. However, if you don’t like Google’s version of apps, you do have the option to switch to the OnePlus stock dialer, messaging, and contacts apps.

OnePlus phones have had OnePlus apps for calling, messages and contacts. However, the OnePlus Nord, OnePlus 8T, OnePlus 9R, OnePlus 9, and OnePlus 9 Pro come with Google’s Phone, Contacts, Messages, and Duo apps as their native calling and messaging applications.

Now, Google apps offer a clean and smooth experience. Plus, there are some additional features like RCS (rich communications services) in Google Messages. However, a lot of users prefer the OnePlus versions of these apps. Thankfully, you can easily switch to the communication apps of your choice.

How you can install the OnePlus Dialer, Contacts, and Messaging app on your OnePlus Nord, OnePlus 8T, OnePlus 9

  1. Install the APK files like normal third-party apps. It may ask you for permission to download apps from unknown sources.
  2. Open the apps and grant required permissions.

Now, you’ll have to set them as default apps. To do so, go to Settings > Apps & Notifications > Default Apps. Here, set OnePlus Phone, OnePlus Messages, and OnePlus Contacts as the default apps, one by one.

If you want, you can now disable the Google Dialer app on your phone. Tap and hold the Google Dialer app and click on App Info. Here, tap on Disable. Note that the OnePlus Contacts app needs the OnePlus Phone app installed alongside it to work properly.
