Oneplus rolled out ColorOS 12 first open beta for Oneplus 9R & Now Oneplus rolled out ColorOS 12 C.13 Open beta 2 for Oneplus 9R with improved performance of the device along with other fixes related to Wifi & Bluetooth.
Also, Oneplus 8, 8 pro & 8T got ColorOS 12 first open beta builds based on Android 12. Recently Oneplus also started recruitment for open beta program for Oneplus 8, 8pro & 8T based on ColorOS 12. Soon after the recruitment, we got the first ColorOS 12 open beta over the air, ColorOS 12 open beta 1 was an incremental update over Close beta 6 & the update size was only 9Mb
Installing ColorOS 12 is a bit different from other Oneplus smartphones follow the below steps to Install ColorOS 12 on Oneplus 9R.

Steps to Install ColorOS 12 on Oneplus 9R:
Method One
1. Open the “File Management” APP of your phone – Category – Phone Storage – Click the three dots in the upper right corner – Create a new folder – Name it oplus_ota_local (Because the system upgrade will strictly verify the name of the folder, it is necessary to ensure that the folder name is accurate, Do not omit the two underscores in the name);
2. After downloading the full package and decompressing it, move the decompressed eight zip archives to the oplus_ota_local folder;
3. Open the oplus_ota_local folder, find and click the system.vendor.zip compressed package, and select upgrade now in the pop-up update interface;
4. After the installation is complete, the phone will automatically restart and upgrade to the latest version.
Method Two
1. Open the “File Management” APP of your phone – Category – Phone Storage – Click the three dots in the upper right corner – Create a new folder – Name it oplus_ota_local (Because the system upgrade will strictly verify the name of the folder, it is necessary to ensure that the folder name is accurate, Do not omit the two underscores in the name).
2. After downloading the full package and decompressing it, move the decompressed eight zip archives to the oplus_ota_local folder.
3. Please turn off the phone first, then press and hold the power button and the volume down button at the same time, wait for the phone screen to display the OnePlus Logo and release it;
4. Click the language you need and enter the phone recovery mode, click to install the upgrade file – install from the phone storage – oplus_ota_local folder – click any zip archive under the folder – pop up the installation interface and select OK
5. Wait for the upgrade progress bar to complete, and the installation success interface pops up to select restart;
6. You can upgrade to the latest version after booting.
