On Reels, Instagram has begun rolling out new features that will let you engage more with your audience and express your true self. A new maximum time and stickers for Reels, as well as additional audio options for the short-videos platform, are among the new additions.

According to Instagram, public profiles with over 10K followers that posted at least five reels over a 60-day period got nearly 2.5x as many followers as those in the same category who didn’t. As a result, the company asks users to use the new tools to publish more reels.

Instagram Reels now has some new features

Instagram has added new sound effects, including air horns, crickets, drums, and more. ”Our refreshed collection of sound effects can help you inject humour into a reel or help your audience get in their emotions while watching one”, the company said.

Additionally, Instagram Reels now allows you to simply import your own music. Use the import audio option to add commentary or background noise from any video on your camera roll that is at least five seconds long. Furthermore, many of the interactive stickers you’re used to seeing on Instagram Stories are also available on Reels, giving you even more ways to interact with your followers. For Reels, the following stickers have been made available:

  • Poll: Making a two-part reel? Poll your audience on what should happen in your next video so that they can help shape the storyline themselves.
  • Quiz: Put your audience’s skills to the test with this sticker.
  • Emoji slider: Let your audience share how your content makes them feel with a sticker that makes the heart-eye emoji even more powerful.

Finally, Instagram is extending the length of Reels to up to 90 seconds, giving you more time to play. The company also mentions Templates, a feature that allows you to quickly make a reel by using another one as a template. The audio and clip placeholders are pre-loaded, so all you have to do now is add and trim your own videos.
