Meta, the tech giant behind popular social media platforms, is bringing a new keyword search feature to Threads. This update will improve the search experience for users in specific countries where English and Spanish are spoken.

How Threads’ Keyword Search Works

Now, with this feature users can simply find people by their username just like Instagram. Though when you tap on the ‘search’ button it will show an expanded search including all posts containing that specific keyword.

Meta decided to add a keyword search feature in English and Spanish after Mark Zuckerberg tested it in Australia and New Zealand.

Apart from this, the company is planning to expand this feature to additional languages and more countries in the future with more enhanced search experience.

Meta has given several updates to its Threads app including Threads web version and features such as sharing in Instagram DMs and custom alt-text. Threads has been getting popular day by day when it was launched on July 5, it got 100 million sign-ups within five days of launch.

Availability in India and Other Countries

Talking about the availability of keyword search feature is now only available in English and Spanish language which includes countries like India, Mexico, Argentina, and the U.S. In the coming days this feature will be available in more countries for both mobile and web versions.
