Over the last few months, OnePlus has steadily revealed more details about the OnePlus 10 Pro 5G. However, there are reportedly still certain aspects that haven’t been publicly revealed, thus OnePlus is planning a global launch event for March 31.
OnePlus has announced that the OnePlus 10 Pro 5G will be released in India, Europe, and North America on March 31 at 10:00 a.m. ET. That’s right, after the phone in question has already been announced several times, this is an announcement for an announcement.
So, what’s being announced this time, you might wonder? OnePlus claims it will release final product price for launch areas, as well as more information about the phone in general and its “competitive advantage.” The OnePlus 10 Pro is already on sale in China at CNY 4,699, which is roughly $740/54,500, but direct conversions aren’t always accurate. In the United States, the OnePlus 9 Pro started at $1,069, as a point of comparison.
The OnePlus 10 Pro features a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, up to 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, a 5,000mAh battery, a USB 3.1 Type-C port, Bluetooth 5,2, 80W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, three rear cameras, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. Expect no headphone jack or microSD card slot unless OnePlus revamps the hardware for the international release, which seems doubtful. At the very least, the original tactile alert slider is still present, which is a rarity on Android smartphones.
The live stream will be hosted by OnePlus on its own YouTube channel, so be sure to subscribe in advance if you want to know when the event begins. The March 31 release date provides you plenty of time to stock up on popcorn for the ultimate viewing experience, and you’ll know exactly what to expect, much as with reruns of your favorite movie or TV show.
