OnePlus 8 & 8 Pro Launched with Snapdragon 865 SoC, 5G & 120Hz Display.

Oneplus officially launched the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro via an international online event. The new flagship devices have features like new Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 flagship processor, 5G support,120 Hz refresh rate, and wireless charging – a first for a OnePlus smartphone.

OnePlus 8 & 8 Pro Specificaions

Oneplus 8 features a 6.55-inch full-HD+ Fluid AMOLED display with1080x2400 pixels resolution,90Hz refresh rate, 20:9 aspect ratio, and 3D Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Oneplus 8 features Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, paired with 8GB and 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM. 

The phone measures 160.2×72.9×8.0mm in dimensions and weigh 180 grams. The phone draws power from a 4,300mAh battery that supports Warp Charge 30T (5V/ 6A).OnePlus 8 comes with two storage options-128GB and 256GB of UFS 3.0 which aren’t expandable via a microSD card.

Connectivity options on the Oneplus 8 includes-Wi-Fi 6,5G, 4G LTE, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth v5.1, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. The phone has an in-display fingerprint sensor. The alert slider is also retained in the new series. The phone has dual stereo speakers along with Dolby Atmos sound and the new Haptic Vibration engine.

The OnePlus 8 Pro features a 6.78-inch QHD+ Fluid AMOLED display along with 1440×3168 pixels,120Hz refresh rate, 19.8:9 aspect ratio, and 3D Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Oneplus 8Pro is powered by Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, paired with 8GB and 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. It runs on runs Android 10 with OxygenOS out of the box. 

The phone measures 165.3×74.35×8.5mm in dimensions and weighs 199 grams. The phone draws power from a 4,510mAh battery that supports Warp Charge 30T (5V/ 6A), Warp Charge 30 Wireless, and reverse wireless charging. Oneplus 8 Pro comes with two storage options-128GB and 256GB of UFS 3.0 which aren’t expandable via a microSD card.

Connectivity options on the Oneplus 8 Pro include- Wi-Fi 6,5G, 4G LTE, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth v5.1, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.  The phone has an in-display fingerprint sensor. The phone also includes dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and offers Audio 3D and Audio Zoom features.The alert slider is also retained in the new series.

The phone features a 240Hz touch sampling rate with a peak brightness of 1300 nits. It also has a 10-bit color panel and an HDR10+ rating. The OnePlus 8 series has been awarded an A+ rating by DisplayMate.

Oneplus 8 Pro features two high-resolution camera-one is an IMX689 48MP Sony sensor and the second is an IMX586 48MP for ultra-wide-angle shots including ultra-wide angle night samples.OnePlus 8 Pro also adds a special color filter sensor.

The OnePlus 8 (8GB RAM and 128GB variant) is priced at $699 whereas its (12GB RAM + 256GB variant) is priced at $799.OnePlus 8 Pro (8GB + 128GB model) is priced at $899 and the 12GB + 256GB variant is priced at $999.Oneplus 8 Pro comes in three color options for 12GB+256GB variant-Glacial Green, Onyx Black, and Ultramarine Blue.

Oneplus 8 comes in two color options for 12GB+256GB variant-Glacial Green and Interstellar Glow. It will go on sale from April 21 in the UK (and other European regions) and from April 29 in the US. OnePlus has yet to announce India pricing and availability details.
