Oxygen OS Android 10 Open beta 1 for Oneplus 5 & 5T.

Oneplus rolled out OxygenOS 9.0.11 update for Oneplus 5 and Oneplus 5T users in February 2020. The last update brought February 2020 Android security patch along with improvement in system stability and some bug fixes.

Today,Oneplus rolled out first open beta build for OxygenOS version 10.0 based on Android 10 for the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T.  The Open Beta zip is now available for download for the OnePlus 5/5T from Oneplus forum.

The Open Beta 1 comes with all the Android 10 features like enhanced location permissions, new privacy tools, live caption, smart reply, sound amplifier, gesture navigation, dark mode, privacy controls and more.

This update won’t be available via OTA, one have to download and install it. Follow the video given below for installation.

How to update Oxygen OS Android 10 Open beta 1 on Oneplus 5&5T

1. Download the appropriate package for your devices.
2. Open the File Manager and move the downloaded .zip package from the Downloads folder to the root directory.
3. Open Settings – System – System updates, press the cogwheel on the top right corner, choose the Local upgrade option, and select the rollback file.

If you are still on OBT builds for 5/5T, then update can be done only via update from recovery.

• Turn off the device -> Press power and volume up key simultaneously until the device enters the Fastboot Mode
• Navigate to Recovery option using volume and power button -> Choose English -> Install from Internal storage -> Select the downloaded zip file -> Select ‘Yes’
• Wait until the installation is complete -> Reboot

Do keep in mind your entire data will be wiped.Hence keep a backup.Follow the video below for backup process.
