PUBG Mobile will come in India as ‘Battlegrounds Mobile India’.

After months of speculation and rumours, it appears that PUBG Mobile is on the verge of resurfacing in India. The South Korean game developer Krafton has officially announced the arrival of ‘Battlegrounds Mobile India,’ likely as a replacement for PUBG Mobile players in India.

According to the press release, the game will be a free-to-play ‘world-class AAA online gaming experience’ on smartphones, with unique in-game activities such as costumes, as well as tournaments and leagues. Prior to the official launch, Krafton is expected to announce a date for pre-registration, and the game will be available only in India.

There will be a dedicated Indian server. The game developer is also said to be working on collaborations to create an esports community and in-game content, with a series of India-specific in-game events set to debut at launch.

Privacy and data protection would be a top priority, according to Krafton. Both data processing and storage will be in full accordance with all relevant legislation, and the game will ensure that privacy rights are respected.

Apart from the official Battlegrounds Mobile India website, Krafton has also opened an official YouTube channel, with over 2.6 million subscribers, despite having a single 10-second teaser video.
