In a bid to enhance the user experience, WhatsApp, the popular messaging app, has introduced a new feature that allows users to share the content of their screens with everyone on a video call. The feature, currently available to some WhatsApp beta testers on iOS, is aimed at making communication more interactive and efficient.

Screen-Sharing Feature on WhatsApp Video Calls

The screen-sharing feature was spotted by WABetaInfo, a reliable source for WhatsApp beta updates. In the latest WhatsApp beta build (version 23.12.0.74) for iOS, users can now share their phone’s content in real-time during a video call. By enabling the feature, a dedicated icon will appear at the bottom of the screen, granting users the ability to share everything displayed on their screen, including notifications.

According to WABetaInfo, the shared content will be recorded and remotely shared with all participants on the video call. This feature opens up various possibilities, such as demonstrating apps, sharing presentations, or even providing technical support to friends and family. Users have complete control over the screen-sharing feature and can choose to enable or disable it at any time during the call. Furthermore, content sharing is only possible with the user’s permission, ensuring privacy and security.

The introduction of this feature coincides with WhatsApp’s recent efforts to allow users to access their accounts on multiple devices, including both smartphones and computers. This update will enable seamless multitasking and provide greater flexibility for users who frequently switch between devices.

In addition to the screen-sharing feature, WhatsApp has also been working on bringing multiple account support to its mobile app. This forthcoming feature will cater to users who manage multiple WhatsApp accounts, allowing them to switch between different profiles without the need for multiple installations or third-party apps.

Moreover, WhatsApp’s previous testing build (version 23.12.0.73) for iOS included an enhanced interface for advertising status updates. Users now have the option to boost their status updates on platforms like Facebook and Instagram, effectively reaching a wider audience and leading potential customers to engage in a conversation on WhatsApp.

As WhatsApp continues to innovate and introduce new features, it solidifies its position as a leading messaging platform, constantly striving to provide its users with a seamless and engaging communication experience. While the screen-sharing feature is currently being tested in the beta version for iOS, it is expected to roll out to all iOS users in the near future, revolutionizing the way people interact during video calls on WhatsApp.
