Xiaomi announced the launch of its first tablet in India at the end of March, but it turned out to be an April Fool joke. And, well, until today, the news had taken a backseat. Almost a month later, the company announced that the Xiaomi Pad 5 will be launched in India on April 27. The Xiaomi Pad 5 series (previously known as the Mi Pad 5 series) was launched in China by Xiaomi a few months ago. Here are the important details to be aware of.

Xiaomi Pad 5 is now available in India

On April 27, the Xiaomi Pad 5 and the Xiaomi 12 Pro will be launched in India at 12 p.m. It will most likely be an online event, live-streamed on the company’s social media outlets.

Xiaomi is yet to reveal additional information about its first tablet in India, but given that it has already been launched, we know what to expect.

The Xiaomi Pad 5 has an 11-inch 2.5K WQHD+ IPS LCD display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a stylus sampling rate of 240Hz. Except for the rear camera hump, which looks like the one on the iPhone X, it resembles the iPad Pro.

The tablet comes equipped with a Snapdragon 860 processor, 6GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. A 13MP single back camera and an 8MP front snapper make up the camera system. The battery has a capacity of 8,720mAh and supports rapid charging @ 33W.

A Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro with a Snapdragon 870 SoC, two rear cameras, a smaller 8,600mAh battery with 67W rapid charging, and 5G compatibility is also available. This edition, however, did not launch in worldwide markets, thus it’s unclear whether Xiaomi would bring it to India as well.

As for the price, we don’t have any specifics at this time. Xiaomi, on the other hand, claims that customers “will not be disappointed with the price.” Xiaomi is also expected to release the tablet’s companion devices, such as the keyboard and stylus. Stay tuned for more information once the tablet launches in India next week.
