Android 11 DP3 Based on OxygenOS 11 For Oneplus 8 Series.

Today, Oneplus announced Android 11 Developer Preview 3 based on OxygenOS 11 For Oneplus 8 and 8 Pro.This Android 11 Developer Preview 3 comes with refreshed design and features of OxygenOS 11.

Yesterday, Oneplus announced Developer Preview 2 based on HydrogenOS for Oneplus 8 series. Android 11 DP3 is still in an early stage of development and users might face some issues and bugs.

Known Issues

1. Some third-party applications may not function as expected
2. System stability issues
3. Network stability issues in some scenarios

Update log of DP 3 OxygenOS 11 for Oneplus 8 Series:

• New visual design (including Weather app, Launcher, Gallery, Notes)
• New layout for more comfortable and convenient one-handed operation
• Always-on display function, including 11 new clock styles
• Live wallpaper that changes according to the time of day
• New OnePlus Sans font that improves readability
• Optimized Dark Mode, including the ability to automatically turn on and off and a shortcut in Quick Settings
• 3 new Zen Mode themes, more timing options, and new Group feature to let you experience Zen Mode with your friends
• New Gallery function that automatically creates a weekly story based on your photos and videos

Please note:

1. These instructions are only for the OnePlus 8 series. Please make sure the battery level is above 30% and a minimum 3GB of storage space is available.
2. The OnePlus 8 series carrier devices (TMO/VZW) aren’t compatible with the Developer Preview builds.

Stable version and OBT to DP upgrade guide—via Local OTA Update
Note: This upgrade method will erase all the contents of the phone, please be sure to backup first.

1. Download the latest ROM upgrade zip package from the specified server.
2. Copy the ROM upgrade package to the phone storage.
3. Go to Settings -> System -> System Updates -> Click top right icon -> Local upgrade -> Click on the corresponding installation package -> Upgrade -> System upgrade completed to 100%.
4. After the upgrade is complete, click Restart.
5. Update successful.

For those already running DP2, your data will not be deleted. Still, we highly recommend you perform a backup before updating.
