It’s worth noting that the app version causing the issue may differ depending on the user’s device.

This issue appears to be affecting a significant number of users on different smartphone brands, with many reporting that the flickering message notification continues to appear each time the app is opened. Specifically, it is happening with OnePlus and Samsung smartphones, as per our knowledge with some devices. The error message stating that short codes cannot be replied to is also causing inconvenience for users who rely on these codes for various services.

This is happening with OnePlus 11

Google has not yet provided a statement regarding the issue, but it is expected that the company is working to resolve the problem with a future app update for the affected versions. In the meantime, users are advised to try the following potential solutions:

  • Clearing the cache and data for the Google Messages app
  • Ensuring that the app is up to date with the latest version
  • Restarting the device
  • Trying a different messaging app as a temporary solution

It’s worth noting that these solutions may not work for everyone, and some users may need to wait for an official fix from Google for their specific app version.

Despite the inconvenience caused by this issue, many users remain loyal to the Google Messages app for its user-friendly interface and wide range of features. It is hoped that Google will provide a solution to this problem soon, and restore the app to its previous reliable functionality for all affected users.
