Prior to its unveiling on July 12, it has been confirmed that the Nothing Phone 1 would include a specially customised Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ chip. Days after Nothing began offering invite-only pre-orders for its first phone, a new development has occurred. To stand out when it hits the market, the Nothing Phone 1 will also have a transparent back.

The smartphone has an eye-catching LED design as well. Last year, Nothing, a new technology startup founded by OnePlus Co-Founder Carl Pei, debuted the Nothing Ear 1, its first pair of truly wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds.

Carl Pei told Input Mag that the Snapdragon 778G+ SoC would be included in the Nothing Phone 1, which supports recent claims.

The Snapdragon chip, a minor improvement over the Snapdragon 778G, was widely revealed in October of last year. However, it is claimed that Qualcomm enhanced the chip specifically for the Nothing Phone 1 to support wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.

To balance “performance, power consumption, and cost,” Pei explained why Nothing chose the mid-range chip over a high-end one like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or the recently released Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.

In response to Ray Wong of Input, the executive also reinforced his position on using the Snapdragon 778G+ SoC in a tweet.

The Nothing Phone 1’s price has not yet been disclosed in full. But a recent source suggested that the forthcoming phone would cost less than $500. (roughly Rs. 39,500).

The Snapdragon 778G+ SoC’s availability is unlikely to be helpful. Nothing catches the attention of customers wishing to upgrade to high-end specifications so much. The UK-based business, however, hopes to draw in certain clients by providing the transparent back and the LED-powered Glyph interface.

According to several renderings that have recently surfaced in reports, the Nothing Phone 1 will be available in Black and White. It has also been verified that the phone has two rear cameras.
