WhatsApp will bring Undo Button for Deleted Messages

WhatsApp already offers a function that allows you to delete a message that was sent unknowingly. So, if a message was accidentally sent to the wrong chat, you may just “Delete for Everyone” and everything will be fine. And now it’s aiming to add a new function that will allow you to undo an action if you delete a message by mistake when it wasn’t supposed to happen. The following are the specifics.

WhatsApp Working on Undo Message Deletion

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on an undo feature for messages that have been deleted for you. This implies that if you choose the “Delete for me” option and then decide to modify it, you will only have a few seconds to do so.

If a message is deleted, a screenshot implies that there will be an undo option at the bottom of the screen that can be tapped to restore the message. This is similar to Gmail’s undo feature for various actions. You can choose to keep the message or delete it for everyone in a group or individual conversation using this method. Take a look at the image below for an example.

We don’t know if this functionality will be available for all deleted messages or if it would only be available for messages that have been deleted for you. Enabling it for all deleted messages makes more sense because it’s possible to remove a message by mistake, and retyping it can be a pain.

According to reports, because this function is still in development, no date has been set for when it will be available to beta and public users. As a result, it may take some time for it to reach users.

In addition, WhatsApp is testing a new feature that will allow you to edit a message that has already been delivered. This will come in handy if you accidentally send a message and don’t want to delete it and retype it. This is also in the works, and it’s unclear when it’ll be available to people.

Message reactions, the Communities area, the option to add up to 32 persons to a voice conversation, and the “2GB limit” for media have all recently been added to the Meta-owned messaging platform. We expect it to become official by the end of the year, as it is testing a lot of features.
