OnePlus 5 gets OxygenOS 10.0.1 with several bug fixes and September 2020 patches.

In the month of May, Oneplus released first stable Android 10 based on OxygenOS 10.0 for Oneplus 5 and 5T. The update brought brand new UI design, enhanced location permissions for privacy, new customization feature in the Settings, bottom navigation bar and many more.

The update was full of issues such as poor battery life and broken EIS. OnePlus didn’t even list the build for download on its website. Since then, Oneplus hasn’t released any OxygenOS 10 stable updates for the OnePlus 5 and 5T.

In September, Oneplus revealed that an update was being processed “at the highest priority by the product team,” but the problems still hadn’t been fixed for Oneplus 5 and 5T.

As per a recent post on the OnePlus Community forums, the incremental rollout of OxygenOS 10.0.1 for the OnePlus 5 has been started.

The update includes bug fixes for several issues that were introduced in the previous update along with September 2020 Android Security patch.

Changelog for OxygenOS 10.0.1 for the OnePlus 5:

  • System
    • Fixed the abnormal call recording issue
    • Fixed the de-activated alarm issue when phone was powered off
    • Updated Android Security Patch to 2020.09
    • Updated GMS package to 2020.08
  • Full Screen Gestures
    • Back gesture from the bottom of the screen is available (OP5T only)
  • Camera
    • Electronic Image Stabilization has been added, bringing you a more stable shooting experience.

The latest release for the OnePlus 5 will be rolled out in a staged fashion and will only reach a handful of devices today. After OnePlus ensures that there are no critical bugs with the update, it should roll out to more users.

The company has also announced that it will begin the incremental rollout for the OnePlus 5T soon.
