NexPhone Smartphone Delivers a Powerful Windows 11 Experience on Mobile

Published

on

The Rise of a True Phone-as-PC Concept

NexPhone smartphone innovation is reviving an idea many thought was buried with Microsoft’s failed mobile ambitions. Developed by Los Angeles–based Nex Computer, the NexPhone smartphone is a unique device capable of running Android, Linux, and even Windows 11 on a single handset, positioning it as a serious phone-as-PC contender.

This ambitious smartphone is designed for users who want more than just apps and notifications. NexPhone targets professionals, developers, and power users looking for a portable productivity machine that can transform into a full desktop-style computer when needed.

One Phone, Three Operating Systems

What sets the NexPhone apart is its ability to support three major operating systems. Out of the box, it runs Android 16. Users can launch Linux Debian on demand and even dual-boot Windows 11 (ARM version), offering flexibility rarely seen in mobile hardware. Nex developers have also created a Windows Phone–style interface to make Windows 11 usable on a smaller screen.

Unlike traditional mobile devices, the NexPhone smartphone allows users to switch between mobile and desktop-style operating systems depending on their workflow needs.

Hardware Built for Productivity

The NexPhone features a rugged design aimed at durability and long-term use. It is powered by the Qualcomm QCM6490 chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. The phone sports a 6.58-inch display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, making both mobile and desktop-style interactions feel fluid.

From a performance standpoint, the NexPhone smartphone is clearly designed for productivity rather than entertainment-first usage.

Additional features include 5G connectivity, wireless charging, microSD card support, video output via USB-C, and a 64-megapixel main camera using Sony’s IMX787 sensor. These specifications place the NexPhone firmly in the productivity-focused category rather than the flagship camera-phone segment.

Designed to Replace a Laptop, Not a Flagship Phone

Nex Computer is clear that the NexPhone is not meant to compete with premium consumer smartphones. Instead, it shines when paired with an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse. The device works seamlessly with the company’s NexDock lapdock, allowing the phone to function as a full Linux or Windows PC.

When connected to an external display and peripherals, the NexPhone smartphone behaves more like a compact desktop computer than a conventional phone.

This approach builds on a growing trend popularized by desktop modes on Android, where smartphones double as computers. NexPhone takes this concept further by offering native access to desktop-class operating systems.

Pricing and Availability

The NexPhone is currently available for reservation with a $200 deposit. The final retail price is expected to be $550, excluding taxes and shipping. Devices are scheduled to ship in the third quarter of the year, with a USB-C hub included in the box.

For users who believe the future lies in a single device doing everything, the NexPhone smartphone delivers one of the most practical implementations of the long-promised phone-as-PC vision.

For users who believe the future lies in a single device doing everything, the NexPhone may finally deliver on that long-promised vision.

Apple AI-powered Siri Gets Its Biggest Upgrade Yet

Apple AI-powered Siri is set to undergo its most significant transformation in years as Apple prepares to enter the next phase of the artificial intelligence race. According to a detailed report by Bloomberg, Apple is working on a next-generation version of Siri that will function as a full-scale AI chatbot, fundamentally changing how users interact with their devices.

Apple AI-powered Siri represents a strategic shift for Apple as it rethinks how users interact with artificial intelligence across its ecosystem.

How Apple AI-powered Siri Will Work as a Chatbot

Internally referred to as “Campos,” the redesigned assistant is expected to be deeply integrated across Apple’s core platforms, including iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Unlike the current Siri interface, Campos is designed to fully replace the existing experience with a more conversational, flexible system that supports both voice and text-based interactions. This move signals a clear shift toward chatbot-style assistants that can handle more complex queries, contextual follow-ups, and task management.

Apple’s renewed focus on Siri comes after mixed feedback to its Apple Intelligence features introduced in 2024. While the company emphasized on-device processing and privacy, many users felt the tools lagged behind competitors in capability. With Campos, Apple appears determined to close that gap by rethinking how Siri works at a foundational level.

With Apple AI-powered Siri, the company is aiming to deliver a smarter, more contextual assistant that feels closer to a real conversation.

Apple AI-powered Siri and Google Gemini Partnership Explained

To strengthen its AI ambitions, Apple has agreed with Google to use its Gemini AI models for parts of Siri. Internally, Apple is reportedly testing an advanced version comparable to Gemini 3, branded within Apple as Foundation Models version 11. The chatbot features are expected to roll out later this year through upcoming software updates, making them a key highlight of Apple’s next operating system releases.

AI Hardware Beyond Siri

Separately, Apple is also exploring new AI-driven hardware concepts. Reports suggest the company is experimenting with an AI-powered wearable pin equipped with multiple cameras, microphones, a speaker, and wireless charging. Designed to assist users throughout the day with real-time visual and audio input, the device is still in development but could reach the market as early as 2027 if plans move forward.

Together, these developments indicate Apple’s intent to redefine its AI strategy—combining software intelligence, strategic partnerships, and innovative hardware to shape the future of its ecosystem.

Oppo Find X9 Ultra shown with camera grip case featuring physical controls and a large camera module design

Oppo Find X9 Ultra has appeared in new real-life images, offering the clearest look yet at Oppo’s upcoming camera-focused flagship. The leaked photos, shared by a tipster on Weibo, highlight a unique teleconverter kit attached to the device, suggesting that Oppo is aiming to blur the line between smartphones and dedicated cameras.

External 300mm telephoto extender steals the spotlight

The leaked images show the alleged Oppo Find X9 Ultra paired with a specialized accessory setup. This includes a custom case, a physical camera grip, and a large external telephoto lens. The most eye-catching element is the 300mm telephoto extender, which is said to be the longest focal-length attachment ever introduced for a smartphone.

According to tipster Digital Chat Station, this external teleconverter will indeed offer a 300mm focal length, potentially setting a new industry benchmark for mobile zoom photography. However, the leak does not clarify whether the extender works with one specific telephoto sensor or both.

Camera-centric design with physical controls

Beyond the camera attachment, the phone itself appears to feature a flat display design. On the right side of the handset, multiple physical buttons are visible, likely designed to improve camera handling when used with the grip accessory. This design choice reinforces the idea that Oppo is positioning the Find X9 Ultra as a serious imaging tool rather than a conventional flagship.

Dual telephoto cameras expected

Previous leaks suggest that the Oppo Find X9 Ultra will come equipped with a dual telephoto camera setup. This is rumored to include a 200MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera offering up to 10x optical zoom. When paired with the external 300mm teleconverter, the phone could deliver unprecedented long-range zoom capabilities.

Launch timeline and expectations

While Oppo has not made anything official yet, the Find X9 Ultra is rumored to launch in March. If these real-life images and specifications turn out to be accurate, Oppo could once again push smartphone photography into new territory, especially for users who value extreme zoom performance.
