OnePlus 15R Review: Incredible Gaming Performance, Massive 7,400mAh Battery
OnePlus 15R review: Fans have a lot to like here, especially if gaming performance sits at the top of your checklist. Positioned as a “most powerful in its class” option, the OnePlus 15R is built around the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, paired with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. On paper, it’s fast, and in real use, it feels every bit like a performance-first phone.
For gamers, OnePlus has clearly leaned in: a 3,200Hz touch sampling solution, an accurate gyroscope, a dedicated Wi‑Fi chip, and network optimizations aimed at reducing lag on crowded connections. In testing, BGMI averaged around 164 fps with manageable heat (peaking near 38.6°C). Genshin Impact ran at a high-frame-rate mode near 120 fps, though temperatures climbed higher (around 41.5°C). Cooling is handled by a serious setup, including a large vapor chamber and graphite layering, helping keep extended sessions stable.
OnePlus 15R Review: Display, Battery, and Charging
The display is enjoyable for content and competitive play: a 6.83-inch AMOLED with up to 165Hz refresh rate, 10-bit color, and strong brightness (up to 1,800 nits). The trade-off is notable: no LTPO this time. Audio is punchy via dual stereo speakers, though tuning may feel slightly top-speaker forward.
Battery life is a standout. The 7,400mAh cell can comfortably stretch to two days for many users, with around 9–10 hours screen-on time reported. Charging is 80W, taking roughly 70 minutes for a full top-up.
Software is another strength: OxygenOS based on Android 16, with 4 years of OS updates and 6 years of security patches, plus a customizable Plus Key and AI tools (with some features still being refined).
OnePlus 15R Review: Camera and Video Recording
Camera hardware is practical rather than flashy: a 50MP Sony IMX906 (OIS) + 8MP ultrawide, and a 32MP AF selfie camera. Photos are solid, but 4K 120fps video may show occasional frame shifting—something OnePlus can likely address via updates. Missing features include eSIM, a telephoto lens, and top-tier haptics.
OnePlus 15R Review: Price, Sale Date, and Variants
Sale starts: Dec 18, 12:00 PM IST.
Pricing (with bank offers):
- ₹44,999 (12GB/256GB)
- ₹47,999 (12GB/512GB)
