The Chinese tech giant OnePlus is extending the reach of the OxygenOS 188.8.131.522 update with the August 2023 security patch for the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro to include more countries, such as those in Europe and North America. For now, the OnePlus 9R has not received this update for European or North American users. You might have to wait a little bit longer.

This update mainly brings the August 2023 Android security patch to the above-mentioned devices. It also enhances your system’s security to protect it from the latest threats and vulnerabilities.
Here’s a detailed breakdown of the firmware versions for each model:
- OnePlus 8: IN2011_126.96.36.1992(EX01)
- OnePlus 8 Pro: IN2021_188.8.131.522(EX01)
- OnePlus 9R: LE2101_184.108.40.2062(EX01)
Currently, the update size of the firmware is unknown so we will update it later in the coming days.
The changelog for the OxygenOS 220.127.116.112 update is same across all three devices.
OxygenOS 18.104.22.1682 Changelog:
- Integrates the August 2023 Android security patch to enhance system security.
Previously OnePlus 8, 8 Pro, and 9R didn’t receive a July 2023 security update but finally, they will get the update. It will be rolling out in stages so you might it receive on your particular device. Currently, the first Indian users will receive it afterwards other regions can enjoy the update.
How to update:
To update your device to the latest OxygenOS 22.214.171.1242, go to Settings > About phone > OxygenOS version Box. If the OTA update is available for you simply tap on Download & install.
