OnePlus company leader in premium smartphones has officially announced the OxygenOS 14 Closed Beta Testing (CBT) for its OnePlus 10R model. With this announcement, the tech giant is inviting OnePlus 10R users in India to join hands and contribute to improving the next version of the OxygenOS.

OnePlus is reserving spots for 500 enthusiasts owning the Indian variant of OnePlus 10R, extending them an exclusive opportunity to experience OxygenOS 14 in advance. These chosen few will play a crucial role by providing feedback and suggestions, thereby ensuring an optimized and seamless software experience for all users.

As an expression of gratitude, OnePlus has promised rewards for standout performers during the CBT.

However, potential testers are urged to exercise caution. Participating in this beta testing could sometimes require flashing builds that might result in data loss. Moreover, given that this version of the software is in its developmental phase, some parts of it will have instability and some risks should be anticipated.

One vital heads-up for the users is the potential incompatibility issues of some third-party applications with Android 14 which could result in problems like flashbacks and unresponsiveness.

Eligibility criteria for this closed beta testing program are straightforward:

  • Own an Indian variant of OnePlus 10R.
  • Active membership in the OnePlus Community.
  • A commitment to actively report any issues and suggestions via the OnePlus Feedback APP.
  • A willingness to join and engage in a dedicated CBT Telegram group.

For ensuring the confidentiality of the program, participants are explicitly prohibited from sharing any content related to the beta version outside the project team.

As for known software glitches in the current build:

  • Display issues with charging status on lock screen and status bar.
  • Absence of text recognition for album photos.
  • Lag when reverting to the preview screen in Camera Pro mode.

Application to the CBT has already begun and will continue until the quota of 500 users is met. Participants should ensure their phones are updated to the versions:

  • CPH2411_13.1.0.590(EX01)
  • CPH2423_13.1.0.590(EX01)

For application and subsequent download instructions, users are directed to navigate through their phone settings. Accepted applicants will be contacted via a Telegram group invitation, underscoring the importance of accurate contact details during the application process.

For those looking to revert to Android 13 after the beta test, OnePlus has provided rollback instructions, emphasizing the necessity of data backup as the procedure will wipe out all phone contents.

Download links for rollback packages for OnePlus 10R models CPH2411 and CPH2423 are available through OnePlus’ official channels.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 Could Be the First Foldable with Exynos 2500 Chip

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7

Samsung is getting ready to launch its new foldable phones – the Galaxy Z Flip7 and Fold7 – in early July. There has been some confusion about which processor the Flip7 will use, but a new report now says it’s likely to feature the Exynos 2500 chip.

This is big news because the Exynos 2500 was originally planned for the upcoming Galaxy S25 series. However, Samsung faced problems producing enough of these chips, so it had to switch to the Snapdragon 8 Elite for the S25 lineup.

Now it seems those production issues have been solved, or Samsung is okay with using the Exynos chip in the Flip7 since it will likely sell in smaller numbers compared to the S-series phones.

If the rumor is true, the Galaxy Z Flip7 will be the first Samsung foldable to use an Exynos processor. The report says the Exynos 2500 will be used in most regions, including India and South Korea, while the Snapdragon 8 Elite might only be used in China and North America.

The Exynos 2500 is a powerful chip with ten CPU cores, including:

  • 1 Cortex-X925 core (up to 3.3 GHz)
  • 2 Cortex-A725 cores (up to 2.75 GHz)
  • 5 Cortex-A725 cores (up to 2.36 GHz)
  • 2 Cortex-A520 cores (up to 1.8 GHz)

It also comes with a new Xclipse 950 GPU, built using AMD’s latest RDNA 3.5 technology.

While this is still based on leaks, it’s exciting to see Samsung bring its Exynos chips back into the spotlight—especially in a foldable phone.
