OnePlus Pad 3 Pro Could Launch Soon, Certified by FCC

A new OnePlus tablet has been spotted on the FCC certification website. The device carries the model number OPD2408. While the listing does not reveal any of its specifications, it has started a wave of speculation. Many believe this could be a rebranded version of the Oppo Pad 4 Pro which was launched in China just a week ago.
OnePlus and Oppo are sister brands under the same parent company. They have a history of rebranding devices, especially tablets. So if OnePlus decides to follow this trend again, it would not be a surprise. However, it’s important to note that this is still just a rumor and has not been confirmed by the company. If the guess turns out to be true the new tablet might be called the OnePlus Pad 3 Pro. It will likely join the Pad 3 which was officially announced in December as part of the OnePlus tablet lineup.
As for the expected features, if it is indeed a rebranded Oppo Pad 4 Pro, the tablet could come with a large 13.2-inch LCD display with a resolution of 2400 by 3392 pixels. It might also support a 144 Hz refresh rate and brightness of 900 nits, Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, and could be available in three RAM options — 8 GB, 12 GB and 16 GB, storage may include 256 GB and 512 GB using the fast UFS 4.0 technology, a 13 MP rear camera, and an 8 MP front-facing camera. It may also come with a large 12,140 mAh battery, which supports 67W wired charging.

OnePlus Watch 3 Relaunches with a 50% Price Hike After “Meda in China” Typo Mishap

OnePlus Watch 3 is back on sale in the U.S., but not without a surprise twist—a significant 50% price hike. What was originally expected to retail at $329.99 during its planned February 2025 release has now relaunched at a staggering $499.99. This dramatic shift comes after an embarrassing typo halted the initial rollout of the smartwatch: instead of “Made in China,” some early units had “Meda in China” engraved on the backplate.
This incident forced OnePlus to pause shipments and fix the error, leading to a delay in the launch. But with the typo corrected, the Watch 3 is now quietly relisted—just with a much higher price tag. While OnePlus hasn’t officially clarified the reason behind this hike, a deeper look reveals some possible factors that might have influenced this decision.
What Went Wrong with the Original Launch?
The OnePlus Watch 3 was initially set to be one of the most exciting smartwatches of early 2025. Packed with flagship features and offered at a competitive price, it was poised to challenge offerings from Apple, Samsung, and Garmin.
However, things went downhill quickly when users and reviewers spotted a manufacturing error—the words “Meda in China” instead of “Made in China” were printed on the back of the device. OnePlus acted fast and pulled the product, likely to avoid branding embarrassment and regulatory issues, especially in the U.S. market.
This misstep, while minor in the grand scheme of hardware errors, caused a major delay and forced the company to retool its manufacturing process.
Why the Price Jump?
Now that the Watch 3 is back on the market, the first thing consumers are noticing is the price hike from $329.99 to $499.99. That’s a 50% increase, without any change in hardware or software specifications.
So why the sudden jump?
One major factor could be the newly imposed 145% tariff by the U.S. government on Chinese electronic imports, which came into effect recently. Since the OnePlus Watch 3 is manufactured in China, the additional customs duties may have been factored into the retail pricing. OnePlus has chosen not to issue a public statement about the new price, which has led to speculation and debate among users and fans alike.
OnePlus Watch 3 Specifications and Features
Despite the drama, the Watch 3’s features remain unchanged, and it continues to be a powerful wearable in the Android ecosystem. Here’s what you’re getting for $499.99:
- 1.43-inch LTPO AMOLED display with up to 2200 nits peak brightness
- Titanium alloy bezel and stainless steel frame for a premium feel
- Snapdragon W5 chipset paired with a hybrid WearOS 5 + RTOS system
- Up to 5 days battery life in Smart Mode, and 10 minutes fast charging gives a full day’s use
- Advanced health tracking sensors including:
- 8-channel heart rate monitor
- 16-channel SpO2 (oxygen) sensor
- Wrist temperature sensor
- 100+ workout modes, onboard GPS tracking, Bluetooth calls, and smart notifications
While the feature set is undoubtedly impressive, consumers are now questioning whether these specs justify a price close to flagship Apple and Samsung smartwatches.

Market Reaction: Value or Overpriced?
The reaction to this relaunch has been mixed. Many fans praised OnePlus for correcting the typo quickly and relisting the Watch 3. However, the price increase has triggered backlash, especially among early buyers who had hoped to grab it for under $350.
Some in the tech community argue that the Watch 3, with its extended battery life and sleek design, is still a strong contender—particularly for Android users who don’t want to be tied to Samsung’s ecosystem. Others feel that at nearly $500, it steps into a price bracket where brand loyalty, app ecosystem, and premium experience matter far more—and OnePlus is still catching up in those areas.
Final Thoughts
The OnePlus Watch 3 relaunch story is a perfect mix of manufacturing hiccup, pricing strategy twist, and global policy impact. While the watch itself holds its ground with top-notch specs and WearOS enhancements, the 50% price hike may limit its appeal to die-hard OnePlus fans and early adopters.
Whether or not it succeeds in the U.S. market will depend on how OnePlus handles transparency, after-sales support, and marketing for this product. One thing is certain: they’ve turned an unfortunate typo into one of the most talked-about smartwatch relaunches of the year.
